Our Mission

An Inclusive, All-Welcoming, Affirming Campground, Working Farm & Nature Retreat

Pine Lake Fishing Club is a design-forward campground and retreat destination that creates a rare and essential offering in outdoor hospitality: a safe, affirming, joy-centered space for LGBTQIA2S+travelers and allies, grounded in nature, community, and care.

Located within 1.5 hours of the Twin Cities, Pine Lake Fishing Club blends thoughtfully designed accommodations, curated experiences, and a small working farm to create a destination that is memorable, values-driven, and financially sustainable.

Three tenets that we believe in:

  1. Nature has a quiet, powerful way of restoring us—offering space to breathe, reflect, and heal in ways that modern life often cannot.
  2. A living, working farm and hands-on petting zoo create meaningful opportunities to slow down, connect with animals, and rediscover the simple joy of new experiences in a natural setting.
  3. Stepping away from the pace of city life and immersing yourself in the calm of the outdoors can deeply renew your spirit, bringing balance, clarity, and a lasting sense of well-being.

Outdoor recreation continues to grow, yet most campgrounds and glamping destinations remain implicitly unwelcoming to LGBTQIA2S+ guests. Pine Lake Fishing Club fills this gap by offering a rural retreat where inclusion is explicit, visible, and operationalized, not assumed. We look to provide a space where people can learn, experience nature, and relax. We will offer workshops and events around topics such as oil painting, yarn and fabric crafts, nature hikes, yoga, and sauna experiences. We will also offer take-home style kits to take back to your tent or a quiet spot to learn a new craft. These can be guided paint on your own crafts, woodworking, crochet, etc.

Together, we can create this space and enjoy it for generations to come!
