The first thing that I do to unwind is to grab my dog and go for a walk. We have a routine, a schedule of when to get outside, and I look forward to those outings so much. There are a few designated routes that we take, some more familiar than others. It’s always fun to come ot a crossroads and let him decide which way we go. He’ll sniff the air, raise his head, look both ways with his tail wagging ever so slightly, and then we set off in the direction of his choosing.
Living in an apartment, getting outside to take walks is a necessity. I try to look at it like this.. “I GET to take my dog for a walk.” Not ..”I HAVE to take him.” Trying to keep the focus and outlook positive.

It’s supposed to be 73 degrees outside today when I get off work, so we’ll take a big route around the neighborhood before my hockey game tonight.
