The biggest risks that I think I have taken in my life have been moving-related. I grew up in Colorado most of my life, until about 12 years ago, when I moved to Minnesota. When the big tech bubble burst in 2001, my company folded its Colorado office and moved everyone who wanted to go to Portland, Oregon. I was out there for a year, and then I moved back to Colorado. I moved from the suburbs of Denver to a small little ski town in the middle of the mountains in my late 20’s. That was one of the biggest risks in giving up a good job, a “stable” situation.. to go be a ski bum. Some of the greatest years of my life were spent there. Risk vs. Reward.
