Daily writing prompt
Describe something you learned in high school.

I think the biggest thing that I learned in high school was how to talk to people and how to fit in with everyone. High school was great for socialization and trying to figure people out. I was never really popular, more of a skater/snowboarder/grunge kid. I was big into wearing flannel and corduroy pants that I thrifted, and dying my hair all sorts of fun colors. Towards the end of my high school time, I found that I was friends with many different cliques in the school. I had friends in the theater, kids, the jocks, the artists, the punk kids, the “cool” kids, all flavors. I learned the ability to talk to people, empathize, and to just be able to listen and have discussions. Looking back, there are certain situations that I would have liked to do differently, but that is ok, I try not to live in the past and not to live with regrets. I was able to participate in a lot of different activities, and spark my interest in many different subjects and future avenues of exploration.
