Daily writing prompt
Describe one positive change you have made in your life.

One positive change that I have made is the commitment to continue to get outside and have adventures. I love to be out hiking, exploring new areas, with or without my dog. I really enjoy camping and finding fun new spots to spend time with nature. I love floating on a paddleboard on a new lake and trying to find out where the fish are hiding. When I’m floating out there, I feel at times like an explorer. It doesn’t take much to feel like you are in the middle of nowhere when you get into a remote back bay or on a creek while fishing.
I used to play a lot of video games, and I do still play them, just not as much. I definitely feel that pull to just “Netflix and chill”, but I always feel like I could be doing so many other things while I’m supposed to be chilling. I like watching hockey on TV, and that is pretty much all I watch, except the nature channel! I gave up all of the streaming services, and it feels pretty good. Especially with spring and summer coming up, I get so antsy sitting inside when the weather is nice out. I used to play video games where the characters are gardening and fishing, and such, and I kept thinking to myself: “Why am I not doing this in real life?!?” It feels much more rewarding to be outside in a garden, getting dirty, getting some good sunshine, and getting dirty.
A super positive light that I keep coming back to lately is the dream of getting this campground and farm/garden space up and running. It is going to take so much work! I am so psyched about the idea of it and how it’s going to turn out. I know that reality can be different from dreams, but the dreams I have in my head for this space are so beautiful. I’ve been chasing some paths the last few weeks, and they have mostly come to dead ends, but that is ok, it’s part of this process. I will continue on and keep reaching out and dreaming of the day when we can be sitting around a campfire sharing stories and s’mores.
