Good morning to all out there in virtual land! Happy Monday and the start of a new week. I have some new folks on board after following up on some subscriber info from the Pride Festival, so thank you for being here, and welcome. I try to complete these daily prompts for this blog section of the Pine Lake website, and it ends up in nice folks’ inboxes as well.
I do think that a little bit of chaos is good for us. It keeps things fresh and exciting and breaks us out of a routine. Routines can be a good thing, but having a little bit of chaos can teach our brains how to handle those stressful or challenging situations, and we end up learning from them, and we are better equipped the next time something similar happens.
This weekend I saw some chaos in the form of an amazing fireworks show at Aquila Park. I feel like fireworks shows have evolved so much from when I was a kid! There were some fireworks that I had never seen before. These crazy red ones that zigged and zagged, these beautiful gold streamer-looking ones that fizzled and sizzled. Just an amazing thing to watch and be present for.

I was also able to get out this weekend and do some fishing, practicing with the fly rod and catching little bass and sunfish. It was a beautiful weekend to be outside, especially if you were wading in a lake. Took my daughters swimming at a lake as well, and we had tons of fun cooling off and playing in the water. Took the tortoise for a walk, and it was super cute.

One of the highlights of the weekend was playing Clue with my daughters by candlelight during a rainstorm. We put on creepy music and really hit the aesthetic. It was so much fun! We also watched a ton of soccer this weekend, but I’ll probably talk about that tomorrow after tonight’s game.
We keep on finding spots on Zillow and through Landfinder for campgrounds. We stayed at a little 4-site rustic campground last week, and it made me rethink a little bit the scope and size of my campground idea. Can we start small and build from there? Would folks still come to rustic tent sites? I believe so, but that is not capturing the overall feel and vibe about what I want to do…but…it’s super tempting to run to the woods and set up a container home or two and start with some rustic tent sites. We keep dreaming!
Thanks for being here! Have a great week!
