Writing for 7.8.2026

Wednesday is typically my down day. I usually play hockey on Tuesday evenings, and I kind of give it all when I am playing, so it takes me a day to recover. I tend not to sleep well after hockey, being so amped up still, it’s hard to turn off. I’ve always played goalie, and I love everything about it. I play with an amazing group of people, and I am so lucky to be one of the regular goalies they look at for filling up the schedule.

I am still coming down from the great experience that was the Twin Cities Pride Festival. I had no idea what to expect, and I am so glad that I was able to be a part of it. I had so much stress and thoughts and feelings going up to it, and so many wonderful interactions with the folks there…it just blew me away. I went into the festival hoping to meet some like-minded friends who wanted to discuss camping adventures, network, meet some new people, and hopefully gain some interest in building some campgrounds. I have tried to get this project started on my own, and realized that I can not do it alone. I was fortunate to have an amazing crew with me to help me get prepped for the festival, and their help is forever appreciated.
Now I want to open my net wider to new friends who may know of exciting and interesting ways to acquire land, secure financing, and get this ball rolling! If you are reading this, thank you for continuing the journey with me. How can we secure funding to make this space happen? How can we as a collective start off small and prove that this idea is something beautiful and needed? Safe spaces are so needed right now. I feel so much like Field of Dreams: “If you build it, they will come.” I am open to communication, ideas, suggestions, etc. Let’s chat and put this out to the universe to make it real. You can email me @ pinelakefishingclub@gmail.com, or hit me up on the Instagram.

Thank you all – Josh
