Daily writing: How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Daily writing prompt
How often do you say “no” to things that would interfere with your goals?

Good morning all. Another interesting thought for the day. I think that fear tends to make me say “no” to my goals. Fear can paralyze me at times from starting or continuing a project. I have been dreaming about this campground idea for a few years now, refining my vision about what I would like it to be, what community it could serve, and how much I want to put myself out there to try to make this dream successful. The fear of failing or not finding the right audience that shares the passion that I have, the fear that people will think it’s another crazy idea, so many other fears have made me pause.

I have chosen lately not to listen to those fears. They still exist, and they try to yell at me from the little compartmentalized box I try to shove them in, but I’m trying not to listen. I am trying to focus on this positive momentum. I know that I have a good idea and that if I can reach like-minded people, we can create something magical.

How can I reach fellow campers? Fellow 30’s and 40’s parents? Punk & Emo Dads and Moms? Queer folks looking for a safe space to exist? I’m seriously looking for S’more’s connoisseurs. Folks who like to build things with their hands. Folks who enjoy fishing, hiking, and being in nature. If this is you…or you have a friend who fits in this category…hit me up! Together, we can get this ball rolling, create some good conversation, and build something special together.
