Leaning on the last few hours of this Thursday. Been burning the candle at both ends lately. Trying to cram all the last of summer things into the last of the summer days. The kids are back in school, routines are starting again, and the days are getting shorter. There is a crispness in the air in the morning, and sleeping with the windows open can get a touch chilly now. The dew on the vehicles in the morning takes a little longer to burn off, and the sweatpants are starting to rise to the top of the “to wear” pile again. I do love the changing of the seasons, the fall colors, and the snow….it’s just hard to let go of summer at times. There is this in-between season where you can no longer fish on open water, but the lakes haven’t frozen over enough to safely ice fish.

Work has been work, and home has been home, and I love keeping them separate. I’ve been sewing and doing a major clean/reorg of my apartment, which is good. Positioned my sewing space a little differently, and I think it’s going to be great. I had some honest chats lately about where I am at with the capground idea. I am still passionate and excited about chasing this dream…I just don’t know what the next step is. I don’t know how to find alternate means of funding to get this project off the ground. My coworker told me that I am the type of “slightly crazy” that makes dreams like this happen. She was referencing the creators of Pandora and other such things that got turned down multiple times before the idea stuck. I totally appreciate that type of compliment and support. We will get there. I have not given up hope. I think part of next summer’s journey is going to be working more fairs and setting up booths at additional venues to try and reach a larger audience. That’s the plan so far…and I look forward to seeing it through.

Hope you all are having a great wind-down of the summer and what are you looking forward to most come fall??
